Samsung is preparing to take a big step into the world of virtual reality (VR). New rumors that have emerged in the technology world have come to the fore with the emergence of Samsung’s new VR headset features on GeekBench. In addition, the features of this device will meet the expectations of VR enthusiasts.
Samsung’s new VR headset comes with 16GB RAM, Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 and Android 14
According to a report from reliable sources, Samsung’s VR headset with the model number “SM-I130” has been spotted on GeekBench and the technical specifications of the device are quite striking. The headset will have 16GB of RAM and will be powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 SoC.
In addition, it will run on the Android 14 operating system. According to the test results on GeekBench, the device has received 1088 points in single-core performance and 2093 points in multi-core performance . We know that the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset is a powerful processor optimized for VR devices.
This new headset will also provide a significant improvement in performance. This processor is said to have a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz and, together with the Adreno 740 GPU, will make the VR experience smoother and more realistic.
Samsung’s mobile division president TM Roh announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event last July that an entirely new XR platform would be introduced later this year.
The new VR headset is expected to be launched in collaboration with Samsung, Qualcomm and Google. Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of platforms and devices, said the collaboration will usher in a new era in mobile computing and take their partnership with Samsung to a new level.
